Penn Students Prepare For Finals
December 18, 2009
Presents, cookies, and Christmas carols are far from the minds of Penn students this week because of final exams.
The exams which test what students learned over the course of the semester, are being administered this week and the week after
Most students studied for about 30 minutes to an hour for each of their finals.
“So far, I’ve studied a total of four hours,” said sophomore Victoria Barhydt, “but I know there’s still a lot to be done.”
When asked about the finals she already took, sophomore Laura Mason said, “I think I did really well because I studied hard.”
Not only are students studying for exams just by staring at notes and problems. Mason said she prepared for her Spanish final by doing interactive problems on the online textbook, Realidades.
Teachers are also confident that their students will do well on their exams.
Geometry teacher Ms. Megyesi said, “If they prepare, I expect them to do well.” She also said that she’s seen students preparing by reviewing notes and practicing problems.
Many students took half of their finals this week, which mean they’ll have to take the other half after Winter Break.
