Penn High School’s Spell Bowl team just missed its second perfect score of this young season on Monday night, Oct. 6, when they scored an 89 out of a possible 90 at the Kouts Invitational.
The Kingsmen, defending Indiana co-champs,  topped an 11- team Northwestern Indiana field while winning their third invitational title of the year.
Perfect varsity spellers for Penn were:  Michelle Tapp, Josh Rajkumar, Muqsit Buchh, Ari Kirsch, Presto George, Max Kirsch, Faihaan Arif, Chris Yun and Disha Waghray.  Perfect junior varsity spellers were:  Hannah McGinness, Alice Kwak, Kanika Arora, Renee Yaseen, Maggie Finnessy, Nikita Kumar, Hannah Smith and Athreya Sundaram. With Penn Coach, Pete DeKever, the team is sure to be guided on the rate path to victory. Congratulations to the Penn High School Spell Bowl team once again.
