Mishawaka Library Hosting Club MPHPL

This summer, the Mishawaka Public Library will be hosting a series of events for experienced League of Legends players.

Club MPHPL, which will be meeting Fridays starting June 9th, is designed for advanced, high-level players of League of Legends, a multiplayer online battle arena game. Players take part in a “capture-the-flag” type of game, where two teams will compete to overtake the other team’s nexus, which is a giant crystal. It’s an intense game, and Club MPHPL is seeking to take it up a notch.

“[We’ve] been doing League of Legends for about a year now.” says Jennifer Ludwig, the Youth Services Coordinator at Mishawaka Library. “There’s been a core group of kids and they’ve managed to level up fairly high, so we’ve decided to add a second LoL session over the summer.”

And Club MPHPL has high hopes for that core group. “For the summer, it’s just…that they can reach players worldwide from our Learning Lab.” says Ludwig. “Adam has mentioned that they’re prepping for some tournaments.”

Adam Russell will be working with the players, and although Club MPHPL is only open to experienced players, you can get some practice by going to the LoL meetings every Thursday, in addition to playing at home.

Club MPHPL will be on Fridays starting June 9th, from 12:30 to 5:30 P.M. The LoL meetings are on Thursdays from 3:30 to 7:30 P.M. You can register for the Thursday events, and contact Adam Russell at arussell@mphpl.org if you feel you’re up for the advanced Club MPHPL.
