Students at Penn High School that drive to and from school need to be aware that last year’s brutal winter was very dangerous, and they might want to be prepared for this year’s cold and chilly winter weather.

It is extremely important to have a winter safety kit so students can be safe on the road in case they get stuck in the winter weather. Here is a list of recommended items that you should have in your car in case of an emergency during the cold, wet, icy, and slippery road conditions:

1. Water

2.  Snacks (Protein Bars)

3. Flashlight

4. Battery-powered or hand crank radio

5. Extra batteries

6. First aid kit

7. Multi-purpose tool

8. Cell phones with chargers

9. Family and emergency contact information

10. Extra money or cash

11. Tools and more supplies

12. Warm coats, mittens, gloves, hats, boots, extra blankets and warm clothing

All Penn students should have these items in their car that they take & drive to school so that they can be safe on the road.
