In a letter to students, parents, and staff, Penn High School principal, Steve Hope, wrote the following:

Students, Parents, and Staff,

We are cancelling both the basketball game and the musical this evening.
Continued low temperatures, poor road conditions, and the timeliness of snow removal at Penn all played a factor in this decision. As you know safety and security are always our first priority.
The basketball game will be made up Tuesday, 2/24. The JV game starts at 6:15
Tonight’s musical performance will be made up tomorrow, Saturday 2/21, at 2:00 p.m. Patrons with tickets for tonight’s performance may use their current tickets for this Saturday Matinee performance. Ticket holders may also exchange their current tickets for the Saturday evening performance or the Sunday evening performance on a first come, first served basis.
Please purchase tickets for the musical by going to www.ticketracker.com or by coming to the box office one hour prior to the start of each performance.  We can not sell or hold tickets from messages left on the voicemail at the box office.
The will still be an exhibit of student art work before and after each performance.
The temperatures and road conditions look much better for tomorrow. Our maintenance and custodial staff will also have more time to clear and maintain our facility for public use.
The girls basketball team will play LaPorte in regional action tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. EST, 9:30 a.m. CST. The lady cagers will take on Lake Central.
