The Penn football team has taken on two of Michigan’s finest football programs in the last two weeks, and have came out with 2 wins.

On September 2nd the team took on the Brother Rice Warriors defeating them 14-7 thanks to an stunning punt return by senior Matt Komo. James Iapulucci also added a touchdown on a QB draw. The Wild Bunch defense had two interceptions from linebackers Parker Adkins and Reese Treber to push the Kingsmen to 3-0 on the season.

Friday, September 9th the Kingsmen traveled to Saint Mary’s Prep to take on the #4 team in Michigan. Saint Mary’s is the defending state champions so this was one of the most anticipated matchups for the 2016 season. Last year the Kingsmen took a heart breaking loss of 24-21 so there was  a little extra incentive in this game. The first touchdown of the game came from QB James Iapulucci to WR Matt Komo. The defining moment came from senior Kicker Jared Hancock putting a late quarter field goal through the uprights late in the fourth quarter. Kingsmen win 10-7 to push to 4-0 on the season.

With the Wild Bunch defense only giving up three touchdowns on the year along with the power run game and efficient passing game the season looks very bright for the Kingsmen. Next game is Friday at School Field against South Bend Adams.
