With their third consecutive sectional win, there’s no stopping Penn Girls’ Track.

After killing it in the conference meet, the Lady Kingsmen were ready to earn themselves another title. It started with the 4×8 relay team of Dani Spring, Elli Mott, Bre Enyart, and Lorena Daugherty earning the blue ribbon by 30 seconds.

The sprinters killed it in the first three races; Megan Darr jumped to second place in the 100 hurdles, Jemmia Pennix ran a personal record in the 400 and is continuing her season at regionals next week, along with Kelsi Carrico. and Izzy Jenkins is moving onto regionals in the 100 dash with a time of 13.37.

The short relay of Nora Shahin, Izzy Jenkins, Emma Daggy, and Kelsi Carrico zoomed to a 3rd place finish to move on to regionals, but it was the 4×400 relay who stole the spotlight. The team made up of Jemmia Pennix, Elli Mott, Ashleigh Macleod, and Megan Darr came in first and set a new sectional record with a time of 4:00.32.

The distance events were especially kind to the Kingsmen with 1st place finishes in each. Ashleigh Macleod won the sectional title for the fourth year in a row with a time of 2:20.21. Freshman Brooke Neal took first place in the mile with Hannah Selis right behind with a second place finish. Superstar Lauren Frank took first in the 3200 with a time of 11:30.20, and teammate Ellie Jankowski finished second. Megan Darr also contributed to the win in the 300 hurdles by coming in first with a time of 48.26.

The field events ran the competition out of the rings. Kendra Laidig soared over the bar in high jump to a second place finish and a spot at regionals next week. Amanda George chalked up a second place finish in pole vault, and freshman Abbi Garwood threw the shot put 33 feet and 9 inches., enough to earn her a ticket to regionals.

After domination on the sectional field, the Kingsmen continue to battle for a regional championship next week at Saint Joe. Come out and cheer the girls on to victory!
