On Saturday, May 26th, Penn’s softball team geared up for their sectional game against LaPorte. They prevailed victorious, winning 3-2.

Sydney Middleton, senior catcher, doubled home in the first run for the Kingsmen and junior Brenna Brown did the same to break the tie.

The team did not only win for themselves, but for their teammate. The South Bend Tribune reported a member’s sudden loss of her father as an inspiration into their win and how they played.

Penn, ranked 10, won its 5th straight sectional win and will host Concord on Tuesday, May 29th, at 7pm for the regional title.
