Penn Girls Wrestling Team Wins State Championship

The Girls wrestling team is traveled down to Kokomo to compete in the State competition, Friday January 14th , 2022.
Eleven Penn wrestlers secured their spot for state.
Maia Centilli, Mackenzie Konanz, and Nunu Helepa earned individual Regional Championships. Heidi Selis, Seleash Ngugi, Sophie Brown, Clarissa Robles, Emma Batten and Kassie Smith were each in the Top 6.
When Nunari Helepa was asked how it felt to make it to state her response was ,” it feels like a huge accomplishment winning regionals and going to state is something crazy and pushes me to work even harder . Feels like we’ve known each other forever and always support each other no matter the cost “. The team won yet another State championship on Friday, making this the 5th consecutive year they’ve topped schools across the State. When asked about what keeps them going, Helepa answered “coaches, ourselves, and each other , dedication kept us going!”
