From the beginning of the year to just after spring break, there have been construction workers crowded outside door A to build a new canopy for students and guests.
The construction was expected to be completed in November, but supply chain shortages set it back.
Sophomore Rion Patrick-Gendron, expresses his opinion on the new addition; “It took them a while to get it up, but its a welcome addition to the school.”
Throughout the years, Penn has instilled a three layer security system. Assistant principal Josiah Parker describes the layers as the first being a buzzer and camera outside door A, a secuity check between the doors, and the final locked door before you enter the commons. The canopys main purpose is to provide a place to wait during treacherous weathers.
