After a six year hiatus, the Penn Talent Show made its return on Wed, Jan 22 in the Penn CPA. About two-hundred people were in attendance.

Fourteen student acts took the stage, from comedy to singing, rock bands to spoken word poetry, and even a student who could impressively chug a whole liter of Mountain Dew.

Penn teachers Jeremy Starkweather and Kyle Berres hosted the event, and acts were judged by a panel of Penn teachers and Special Guest Judge Brittney Baily from B100.

Prizes were given for third, second, and first places.

Nix Hardman came in third for their performance of their original song “Glass Walls.”

The Royal Base Quartet – a group from Penn’s production of “The SpongeBob Musical” – placed a close second for their rendition of “What Shall We Do With a Drunken Sailor.”

And the first place prize went to the group consisting of David Guarraci, Andrew Neely, John Isacson, and Sam Hubert for their cover of Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.

Nix Hardman also won the audience favorite vote at the show and was awarded the people’s choice trophy.
