Ski club sign-ups are now open and available to anyone interested in joining. The ski club will head down to Swiss Valley every Monday until January 27th. Swiss Valley is a well-known ski area located in Jones Michigan and is about a 40 minute bus ride away.
In an interview with Ms. Brown, the club sponsor, she tells us “Anyone can join. There’s all different levels of hills. If you’re a beginner, there is a hill with a tow rope and that’s a good place to start. There are also intermediate and advanced hills.” She also told us that if you’re planning on joining, it’s crucial that you bring waterproof gear such as gloves, a coat, snow pants, and a helmet. A helmet will cost around $90 but you can rent one at Swiss Valley if that’s preferred. While speaking with Ms. Brown, she tells us, “If you’re new to skiing, there’s a lesson available where you can learn all the basics.”
If you’re interested in joining, head over to the Penn Ski Club web page to sign-up. It’s also important to have the Ski Club waver filled out before the club starts. Payments and sign-ups for the club were due December 3rd, but email Ms. Brown for information for next year.
