The Dream Commission Society (DCS) is the only club at Penn High School that helps people with special needs at different local organizations and hospitals. In past years, DCS has gone to Memorial Hospital to see cancer patients and give them baskets for their birthdays.
The club was started by senior, Lauren Nidea who was inspired by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The idea was approved, and the club started in the 2012-13 school year. It is self-funded.
Recently, the DCS went to the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center to host an Easter Party for several children who go to pediatric therapy and their families . This is the first time that SJRMC has had a group come and sponsor an event like the Easter Party.
The meetings for DCS are once a month and last around 20 minutes depending on the event. Application forms and more information on DCS can be found in the guidance office.
