On Sunday December 14 the Penn Robotics teams will be competing here at Penn in the FTC Robotics Competition. This will be the first FTC competition to be held here at Penn and it will be open to the public from 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. 24 teams from  across Indiana will be competing. This Northern Indiana qualifier will be the second of the three events held in Indiana this school year. FTC Robotics competition is open for 7th through 12th grade students. This years challenge was two fold. First teams must make a robot with a central apparatus to hold and then drop the different game pieces onto the field. Secondly the robots must be able to pick up those pieces and place them in either the 30, 60, or 90 centimeter tubes placed around the field. To score points those tubes with the pieces must be moved either up one of the ramps set in the field or into the designated goal zone. The competition stage will be split into two fields running 2v2 events at the same time. At the end of the competition the top 8 teams will move onto state . For those who wish to come and support our teams, public parking will be provided in lot A and the stands will be open for public seating.
