Penn Junior Kai King will be heading down to Purdue University next month to represent Indiana 4-H, a program which supplies opportunities for youth skill development.
King is a state ambassador for Indiana 4-H and will be recognized as the legislature reads the 4H joint resolution. The opportunity gives state ambassadors a chance to share their 4-H experiences, expand speaking skills, and learn civil engagement.
“4-H has affected my future in many ways. It’s shown me a lot of skills that I need; like leadership skills, how to organize a meeting, how to organize myself in general. It’s showing me how to speak, public speaking in general,” King said. “It’s showing me how to organize my tasks and how to be a good person in general.”
King is one of nine state ambassadors, and is an eight year 4-H member of Elkhart County, as well as the president of the local 4-H club.
