On Thursday, October 27th the Penn Chinese classes went to Chinatown in Chicago to to get a first hand look at the culture they have been studying. The students straight off the bus were taken to the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago to see how the Chinese immigrated to America and developed little districts of Chinese culture in America called “Chinatown”. After the museum the students were taken to a Chinese bakery filled with traditional Chinese and American treats with a Chinese twist. Later the students walked to a nearby plaza for a lunch, consisting of traditional Chinese foods. After the students were finished with their meals the they had time to explore nearby candy shops, food vendor, chiropractors, medical shops, and many others. After the students were done exploring Chinatown they loaded up back on the buses, and driven back to Penn High School to end their exciting Chinatown trip.
