Penn German teacher, Christine Vandygriff retires after 23 years

The Penn High School foreign language department celebrated the career of Ms. Vandygriff just after she finished her last class on Tuesday, June 2nd., 2015.
Vandygriff began her career at IUSB as an adjunct instructor. She came to Penn after a stint at Mishawaka High School, and in her first three years she also taught at Schmucker.

“I’m planning on traveling,” Vandygriff said about her retirement.

Traveling was also a part of her teaching.  Even before the GAPP program, she took classes on trips to Europe. “Got to see castles and all kinds of stuff. I bet I’ve been on twelve trips (with students) since I started here at Penn.”

“I really love being with the kids, and I will miss traveling with them.”
