Short Hair Because We Care hosts its sixth annual donation event on Saturday, November 16th from 11:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. at Penn High School.

According to SHBWC board member, Megan Kennedy, the process of donating your hair is super simple.

“We’ll have you check in, and then tell a stylist from Salon Nouveau how much hair you want to donate. After they cut your hair, you’ll put it in a bag and give it to us, fill out some forms and then we’ll send it out to children with hair loss,” Kennedy said.

All in the community are able to donate their hair, including people with dyed or color treated hair. The only requirement for donating your hair is to have eight inches or more of hair.

Hair collected from this event will be donated to the non-profit organization Children With Hair Loss, who provides hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults with hair loss. Last year around 334 inches of hair was donated by over 33 people.

If you are interested in donating your hair, make sure to sign up via this Google Form to guarantee yourself a time to donate your hair during the event, and email shbwcphs@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.
