Each year, the Scholastic Arts and Writing Competition aims to celebrate the skill of all creative students in America. Results from the regional competition were announced just two weeks ago and winners are now being honored at the South Bend Century Center on Sat, Feb 8.

Over fifty Penn students received recognition for their artwork and writing, all winning either an honorable mention, silver key, or gold key.

A silver key sends a students piece to regional sectional competitions, and a gold key sends a students piece straight to nationals. Junior Eliza Wright won four awards for her photography this season.

“It feels very accomplishing because there’s so many people that submitted to Scholastic, so, knowing that mine” Wright said.

At 10:30 a.m. tomorrow morning, Wright and many other Penn students are being recognized for their creative works. All gold and silver key works will be on display physically, and honorable mention pieces will be displayed virtually.
