Penn campus sees plenty new construction updates
If you’ve been around Penn recently, you’ve probably noticed the truckloads of construction happening all across campus, and beyond. From the nearly finished fieldhouse to the new band room addition outside Door B, and even the west balcony renovation in the main arena, Penn is buzzing with progress.
The fieldhouse is nearing completion, with construction expected to wrap up by the end of this month. Before it officially opens, it will go through safety inspections to ensure everything meets standards. The anticipated public opening is expected to take place shortly after the start of the new calendar year.
Meanwhile, as reported earlier this semester by Noah Teeple, work continues outside Door B, where crews are building the new band and music room. Assistant Principal Josiah Parker shared an update on the progress:
“Door B is going well. It starts a little slow. Right now a lot of stuff is under the ground, so they’ve torn off the existing entrance at Door B—the overhang and canopy. There’s some brickwork out front. That’s all been taken down, and they’re going to start putting in the foundation for the new structure at Door B.”
This addition is expected to be complete by the start of next school year, just in time to welcome both returning and new students.

Finally, over in the main arena, construction crews have begun replacing the west balcony floor. The new wooden planks have already been delivered. While this project doesn’t impact most students, a few classes that use the balcony area will notice temporary changes during the renovation.
