Academic super bowl wins Valperaiso invitational

On March 17th, Penn’s academic superbowl teams attended the Valperaiso invitational competition to compete in the Social Studies, Math, Fine Arts, Interdiscipilinary, Science, and English subjects.

Academic superbowl is a competition where teams of three students from each school answer 25 multiple choice questions about their subject. Whichever team gets the most correct answers out of 25 wins that category. Then whichever school has the most wins for each category is given the top overall honors.

The Kingsmen achieved some of those honors after a close competition with Crown Point, with Penn scoring first place wins in Social Studies, Fine Arts, and Math, and a close second place in Interdisciplinary, which is a combination of all topics.

This year, Indiana’s academic superbowl topic is “Hoosier Heritage”.  The next stop for Penn’s teams is the regional event against Mishiwaka on April 19th at Mishiwaka High School, giving each team about a month to prepare.
