Last Friday, December 13th Penn high school’s chapter of Champions together transformed the cafeteria into a winter wonderland. Many different clubs and sports teams were in attendance with different booths such as making winter cards, a “Ho ho ho toss”, and a hot chocolate station.
The club raised $298.11 (almost $300) with all proceeds going to the Indiana Special Olympics.
Students created decorations for the event in advance and they prepared special activities for participants.
Junior Aiden Jones who posed as the widely loved Santa Claus for the event says that Champions together is “A great way to help out my community and school and all kinds of people within it”.
Teacher and club sponsor Bennet Blazo said that the event was a huge success and we can plan to see Champions together making appearances at sporting events and a possible small event around Valentine’s day.
This event was the first of the year. And we can’t wait for more!
