The third-grade students at Elm Road Elementary School get a unique experience towards the end of the year to help them learn more about economics. For the past 15 years, third-grade students have been creating products and selling them or providing services, to the other grades in the school.
Mini Mall is a fundraiser that not only helps the students learn about economics, but it also helps an organization chosen by the students. This year $820.87 went to the Fred Hollows Foundation. In past years the money has gone to other foundations, such as Heifer International, Pet Refuge, and Ronald McDonald House. With this event continuing for years to come, many more students have fun to look forward to in their third grade year.
