On Friday, April 28, Ball State will be holding a one-day field trip event for middle and high schoolers interested in many different communication fields. Some of these include communication, speech and debate, media design, video production, social media, and more. There will be interactive workshops with college professors and experts from many fields. There will be a registration fee that will be announced closer to the event date.

Scholastic journalists will also compete in the annual contest. Contest submissions open on Wednesday, February 1, and close Monday, March 13. Categories include yearbook, radio and TV, and sports journalism. Awards for each category will be announced Friday, April 28 at the conference.

This year there will also be a non-student competition, Open Form, for people making communications work outside of school programs.
