Penn Key Club recently hosted a food drive.

Mrs. Bates who is the advises Key club , commented on the event in an email interview.

She explained “,Penn Key Club collected a total of 614 food items including cans for this year Thanksgiving Food Drive”.

Mrs. Bates explained what organization the food collected went to,” All donations were given to the Mishawaka Food Pantry and will be personally handed to families on Thanksgiving Day by the Mayors Youth Council!”

Mrs Bates exclaimed  her gatitude to students and staff, she said,”Students and staff participated as a way to show their compassion and support toward local families who may be struggling to meet their basic needs.”

Mrs. Bates said what a great resepect she and her students have for the food drive. She went on to say,”As Penn Key Club advisor, it a great honor to guide 345 students through our many volunteer events and drives for the community. All of our members truly have a heart to serve their community and give back any way possible.”

She explained, even though the food drive is over food are still needed.”The food drive ended on last Friday however the Pantry is always in need of supplies to give year round to poverty stricken families.”
