korean holiday-lunar new year

In Korea, there is a holiday called Seollal. Seollal translates to Korean New Year.

This holiday has a culture where families gather at the beginning of each year to celebrate the New Year, make and eat traditional food, play traditional games, and adults give money to children. The celebrations last it is 4-5 days.

In 2023 Seollal is on January 21st.

On January 31st, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, the Korean Club at Penn high school will learn and experience Korean New Year’s holidays and play traditional games.

Also, they will eat traditional Korean food. the president of the Korean club said “To celebrate the Lunar New Year, we will learn about the Korean holiday, such as food and traditions. Also, we are going to play ‘Yut Nori’, a traditional Korean game”

Hopefully, many students will come to participate in the Korean club meeting and enjoy Korean traditional culture, traditional food, and traditional games.

한국에는 Lunar New Years라는 명절이 있다.

이 명절은 매년 초반에 있는데, 새해를 기념하여 가온 족이 모여 전통 음식을 만들어 먹고, 전통 게임도 하고, 어른들이 아이들에게 용돈을 주는 문화가 있다.

2023년의 설날은 1월 21일이고, 그 날을 포함하여 4일에서 5일동안 연휴이다. 

1월 31일 오후 3시 30분부터 4시 30분까지 코리안 클럽에서 한국의 lunar new year 명절과 그 날의 전통 놀이를 배우고, 그 놀이를 할 것이다. 또한, 한국의 전통 음식도 먹을 것이다. 

많은 사람들이 코리안 클럽 모임에 참여하여 한국의 전통 문화와 전통 음식, 전통 놀이를 즐겼으면 좋겠다.
