Homecoming is one of the most exciting times of the year. Everyone dressing up for spirit week, the powderpuff game, a football game, and to top it off two lucky people get selected for homecoming king and queen. This year there’s a wonderful selection of nominees from the class of 2022, each with their own set of quirks.

The nominees are as follows…

Queen nominees:

Sydney Hanna: She’s played volleyball at Penn all 4 years and plans to continue in college along with majoring in education

Emma Hickey: Most people know her from volleyball but she’s also apart of the Student Athlete Leadership Council and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Caitlin Price: She wanted to run for homecoming queen so she could “represent a different group at Penn.” Caitlin is involved in band and the fine arts which she feels that by running she’ll give more of a voice.

Alivia Wasmer: She’s a part of NHS and is a veterinary intern at The Center for Animal Care and Health. Alivia plans to study veterinary medicine in college and wishes all of the nominees good luck.

Rachel Morrison: She’s running with her boyfriend Tyler who she’s been with for over three years. Rachel wants to continue her education at Purdue or IUSB and study veterinary medicine.

King nominees:

Nenio Muhammed: At Penn, he plays rugby and wrestles. Nenio wants to thank his parents, coaches,  teachers, and everyone who nominated him.

Tyler Morris: He plays rugby, loves to work out, and plans to study sports medicine. Tyler encourages people to vote for him and Rachel because they’ve been together all throughout high school.

Garrett Mobley:  He runs the Arm Wrestling club and is a part of Penn Building trades. After high school, he plans to become an electrician or welder. He’s running with his girlfriend, Alivia Wasmer.

Carter Wittendorf: He’s a part of Penn Marching Band and would like to thank all of his friends for nominating him for king.

Gabe Speicher:  He’s a part of the track and field team and is very excited to be on this year’s homecoming court.

The game will be on Friday, October 1st against St Joseph at 7 PM. Don’t forget to cast your vote for king & queen
