The Penn basketball team played back to back games Friday and Saturday, but came away empty handed losing both of the games.

On Friday night, the Kingsmen traveled to South Bend Adams to face the 2 win eagles team. It was a close game throughout the first half and at halftime the score was 36-35. Senior leader Matt Trewhella had 17 points at the half. The second half was all eagles and they came away with their 3rd win of the season beating the Kingsmen 56-54.

The next night, Penn went to Michigan City to play the 3-5 Wolves, it was all Michigan City from opening tip and they handed Penn its 6th loss in the season winning 66-49.

The Kingsmen are currently 4-6 on the season, but the season has not been a total disappointment. Before the season started Penn got the news that Senior Trey Burns would be out the whole season after having knee surgery. Senior Matt Trewhella has stepped up big for the Kingsmen this season, he scored his career high 32 last week against New Prairie. Freshman Noah Applegate has also had a successful season so far, playing against tough competition as a freshman.

Penn’s next game will be Thursday night at home against John Glenn. Tip is set for 7:30.
