Just a brief reminder to all aspiring authors out here, National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is November! For those of you who don’t know, National Novel Writing Month is a ppersonal c hallenge to all writers to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. Thats 1,600 words a day! NaNoWriMo is a nonprofit organization with the firm belief that “The world needs your novel” and serves as a place of inspiration for aspiring authors and an outlet with which to challenge themselves.

You don’t have to be a professional to participate. Sign ups are free and open to all who wish to join. The website gives you many useful tools to use while writing and will help you keep track of your word count as you submit it each day. There are tips and tricks to help you reach your word count goal as well as message boards to bounce ideas off fellow authors. The site also allows you to submit a summary of your novel for display and the ability to track your friends’ word counts as you each complete the challenge.
