Penn students will have Monday, January 14th off for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Dr. King was a minister and activist, and one of the most prominent leaders in the civil rights movement. This holiday celebrates his achievements and people are encouraged to use the day to “reflect on the principles of racial equality and nonviolent social change espoused by Dr. King.” Students will return to school on Tuesday and it will be a gold day.
