According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, about 20 people per minute are abused by their partner. While it may physically and mentally affect the victim, it also mentally affects children and teens, and if it isn’t stopped, children and teens could be physically hurt as well.
Often, the victim will be too afraid to seek help or may feel helpless, but many resources and people can help. If you know someone who is being abused by their partner, the best thing to do is seek help immediately.
Penn High has many counselors and teachers who are more than willing to help students if they know someone who is struggling with domestic violence.
