On February 1st, 2020, many students from the Penn Orchestras and Penn Bands participated in the Indiana State School Music Association Solo and Ensemble event held at Northwood High School. Students that competed the highest level, Group 1 performers, will have a chance of performing at the state tournament, which will be held on February 29th, at Northview Middle School. 13 entries have been accepted from Penn Orchestra to play on Saturday.
