On September 29th, Penn High School hosted its annual homecoming parade. Students participated in the parade by riding in the floats that they made. Several clubs and teams participated in the parade, along with some other PHM schools. The parade started behind Schmucker Middle School and ended at Bittersweet Road, and several students and families gathered to watch the parade. The parade included a water dunk and food trucks.
The Homecoming Dance was hosted for the first time in 20 years, on September 30th, replacing the Silver Mile fundraiser. Sophomore student John Lu said “I have been in the Silver Mile before, and I liked it. I’m neutral about having no Silver Mile,” when asked about the silver mile. Several students came to the dance with their friends or date, dressed in sunset-themed attire. The homecoming dance involved games, food, and music. and lasted from 7:30 PM to 11 PM on the Everwise Freed Field.
Homecoming weekend was a great time for Penn students to come together and show school spirit. The swim team won the best float, and Tara Dauby and Carter Utz won homecoming King and Queen.
