The Penn Advanced Jazz Ensemble will compete at the Swing Central Jazz Festival, a national jazz competition, alongside 11 other bands from across the nation starting this week. Each band had to audition for the festival in the early fall, and this year Penn was lucky enough to be chosen to participate.

Penn, along with the other 11 bands, will be playing the same three competition tunes as the other bands at the main competition event near the end of the festival. Besides the main competition, Penn will also be putting on an outdoor concert, weather permitting. These events, along with extra field trips and activities will all be recorded right here by Giselle Goad and Mahmoud Al-Fadhl, two members of the ensemble.
