On Saturday, February 23rd, the Penn Speech team went out to compete at the sectionals tournament at Concord. The team reached new heights with regards to performance, as they managed to qualify eleven students for the State Speech tournament!

The nominated students include Abhinav Kotaru and Kemal Perdana in 3rd and 4th place in Discussion, Lyvia Li and Michael Riley in 3rd and 5th place in Impromptu, Anya Tang and Charles Johnson in 2nd and 6th place in International Extemporaneous Speaking, Karen Wang and Amrita Kulkarni in 5th and 7th place in Informative Speaking, Manaal Buchh and Anya Tang in 5th and 6th place in Original Oratory, and Lyvia Li in 3rd place in United States Extemporaneous Speaking.

Overall, Penn earned 4th place out of all the competing schools, and was subsequently awarded a nice new trophy. Be sure to wish all of these students good luck at the State Speech tournament, which will be held in Southport High School in Indianapolis.
