Recently Mr. Poling took a class to go see something new to us here in Northern Indiana. The class got to see some brand new solar panels that will be finished around August 31st of this year. These solar panels will cost around $14 million to create. The panels have been added to help create some electricity and heating for the near by area. I sat down and talked to one of Mr. Polings students. Alexis Miller told me about her experience. I asked her about what she found interesting. She said “I found it interesting that they would do this in Indiana out of all places because of how unpredictable our weather is.” She than told me that quote, “They told us that the smallest bit of sunlight could give us energy so that even on cloudy days we will still get power.” I talked to her more about if it would be worth it considering in other areas, since the fact is that it costs so much. Alexis told me, “I think it will be helpful because the panels last for about 25 years and that it will help us get more power that wont damage our planet.” The panels will give us a helping hand in protecting our planet and give us a little more power to our home town.
