The Penn Spell Bowl Team won their 16th state championship this year!

Senior Hannah Smith said “it was intense” as the team thrived in the state spelling competition. Coach DeKever pushes spell bowl to do their best, and says the team writes “hundreds of words in a practice.”

The team has a lot of dedication and works hard every practice and competition. Furthermore, the team has also made friendships that filled their season full of laughter. Smith smiled, “it was really fun…and it was great that our season was so successful.”

The hope is that Spell Bowl brings home another state championship next year! Steve Hope, Principal of Penn, is hopeful of this as well. Mr. Hope said “their perfect scores are evident in so many of their competitions!”

Congratulations, Spell Bowl, for a fantastic season!
