It has been 12 years since the release of Avatar, and there has been little talk about a sequel until now. Not only is Avatar 2 in production, but three more avatar movies have been announced as well. All that is known about the new Avatar movies is that there is going to be one narrative interwoven through each movie.

Avatar 2 was first announced in 2013 and was supposed to be released the next year, but has been delayed several times. James Cameron, the director of the film, has stated that all the filming for avatar 2 has been finished and avatar 3 filming is 95% done according to Variety.

It was been revealed that the new movie will be set underwater. It will be interesting to see how the native species and the humans traverse this environment as well as any animals living in this environment. Additionally,

Considering Avatar 2 is set to be released in 2022, there have been no official trailers adding to concerns about the release of the film. With how often these sequels have been delayed it would not be surprising if the film is once again delayed, or is rushed.
