The gold rush prevailed in an offensive battle against the Mishawaka Cavemen in a hostile environment at Steel Stadium with a 41-31 victory.

The Cavemen took an early lead on the Kingsmen then Camden Bohn carried for a 16 yard run and made the score 7-14. Camden Bohn broke off a 23 yard run, but the Kingsmen remained down 14-20. Camden Bohn then retained the lead for the Kingsmen with 13 seconds before halftime with a 1 yard run. Camden Bohn picked up another 1 yard touchdown run to make it 28-20.

During a Cavemen’s drive Zach Main picked up a fumble and returned it for 65 yards. Sam Scholtes missed the extra point. Rashad Fahim ran off with a 29 yard touchdown and Sam Scholtes made the extra point to make it 41-27. The Cavemen scored one more time, but it wasn’t enough for them.

The Kingsmen earned its 34th NIC conference title. Coach Yeomen has coached 12 season for the Kingsmen and has gathered 12 NIC titles, 8 Sectional titles, 6 Regional titles, and 2 Semi-State titles.

The next game for the Kingsmen is Friday, October 23rd on TCU Freed Field at 7:30 against the Slicers from LaPorte with a record of 6-3(4-3 in the NIC) for the opening round of Sectionals.
