On Friday November 6, the Kingsmen hockey team and Valparaiso clashed in a very competitive game which eventually ended the game in a tie of three to three.  The Penn struck in the first period with an early goal to put them in the lead at 11:27.  The rest of the period played out with Valpo getting a goal back against the kingsmen with 6:51 seconds left in the first period.

Penn’s game plan during the second period was to keep on offense and have pressure on the Valpo defense.  With 6:11 left in period two the Kingsmen scored their second goal putting them ahead. But then again Valpo fired back with 3:31 left on the clock, tying the game back up.

Going into the third period Valpo continued their scoring with a goal with 6:56 left in the game adding to their lead and making the score three to two.  But Penn Held strong and got a goal back through Sean Calhoun with only 5:51 left in the game. But Penn could not bring home the win in the end Tying 3-3 with Valpo.

Senior #94 Tate Seroczynski said Penn played, “not too well” and that the team could, “only get better.”  Maybe the positive input of Seroczynski will help the Kingsmen turn their previous performance around, in their next game against Valparaiso on Friday, November 6.

Scorers:

Lucas Forbes- period 1- 11:27

AJ Crawford- period 2- 6:11

Sean Calhoun- period 3- 5:51
