In forty-six degree weather on October 18th, the Penn girls watched their two rival teams fight for a win.

Wind and rain tormented both players and spectators all day at the tournament. The Penn girls had a bye for their first game time and after Plainfield beat Warsaw girls, Penn knew it wouldn’t be an easy win.

At 1P.M. the ball was kicked and Plainfield ran up on defense to psyche the Penn girls, but to no avail. All Plainfield could do was try to keep Penn away from the try line. Unfortunately for Plainfield, Penn scored try after try after try. Penn’s second game with Warsaw started thirty minutes after the first. Warsaw had even more trouble keeping Penn girls away from the try line than Plainfield did in the other game. Warsaw lost both games. Plainfield won against Warsaw but lost to Penn. In the end, Penn took home the title with their skills in scoring and with a great defense.

Overcoming their rivals from last year, and the team that beat them this year, gave Penn many reasons to celebrate. Penn faced many difficulties this season but all of the work they put in was shown in multitudes at the tournament.

Great job, Lady Kingsmen!
