Last Tuesday, January 6th, the Swimming and Diving team took on Riley High School at home. Both the Penn boys and girls came out on top, the girls winning 120 to 66 and the boys winning 130 to 50.

The girls were incredibly successful, winning every event but two. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Kayla Molnar, Taylor Busch, and Lea Cecil took the top three spots, all finishing within three seconds of each other. Emily Meckstroth won the 200 Yard Individual Medley, coming in first and 8 seconds faster than her competitors with a time of 2:08.69. The 100 Yard Freestyle was also a great success, with Lea Cecil finishing first with a final time of 54.59, Casey Ziegert with 56.20, and Olivia Adam with a time of 57.63.

The Penn boys also dominated the water, winning all of their events. Adam Wait, Kyle Morris, Michael Knutson, and Matyi Kovacs won the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with a final time of 3:24.85. Anthony Vernasco finished first in the 100 Yard Breast Stroke with a time of 1:02.04, and Parker Brandenburg finished in a close second with a time of 1:03.30. Nate Mark won the 1 Meter Diving event, finishing with a total score of 200.75 points.
