Senior Matt Trewhella was the only player from Penn to be named to the All-NIC game. As a Junior last season, Trewhella averaged 8.1 points off the bench at the post position. He completely revised his game over the off season.

With the season ending injury to Senior guard Trey Burns, Trewhella was needed a lot more on the offensive end. Trewhella was forced into playing the wing or guard position along with freshman Noah Applegate.  Trewhella excelled at the wing position averaging 20.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game this season.

Not only did Trewhella propel the Kingsmen to many wins on the offensive side, but he also was given the task of guarding the best players on the opposing team. Trewhella guarded players like, NIC MVP Jair Rodgers, Indiana commit Grant Gelon, and Army commit Mark Madden.

Trewhella was also elected to play in the fifth annual McDonald’s Michiana High School All-Star Game. The game features the areas top players. The game is March 29th and starts at 7:15 at Bethel College’s Wiekamp Center. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for students, and children under 12 will get in for free.
