St. Patrick's Day Boredom Busters
Are you spending your St. Patrick's Day at home by yourself with nothing to do? Here are some fun things to get out and do with your friends or family.
On March 13th, check out the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in downtown South Bend. It begins at 11 A.M. and starts on Jefferson and Francis Streets. Immedietly following the parade is the "Greening of the East Race" at Seitz Park, where the river is turned green to celebrate the Irish holiday.
Penn High School 2010 Spring Blood Drive
MISHAWAKA—The Penn National Honor Society will be holding its Spring Blood Drive on Monday, March 15th and Tuesday, March 16th in the CPA lobby. Eligible blood donors will need to sign up in the Math & Science Division Office between Monday, February 22nd and Thursday, March 11th. In order to donate blood, students must be at least 17 years old or 16 with parental permission, be in good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. Students must not have had any tattoo or piercing work done for twelve months prior to the donation.
Area Fog Delays School Two Hours
A dense fog descended on Saint Joe County late last night and early this morning that pushed back the opening of Concord, Middlebury, Elkhart, and P-H-M schools as well as others.
Penn Mock Trial Places First at Regionals
This past weekend, Penn sent four mock trial teams to the Elkhart County Courthouse for the Indiana Mock Trial Regional.
Penn Jazz a la Mode
MISHAWAKA --The Jazz a la Mode was held in Penn High School's cafeteria last Friday night from 7:30 until 10pm. Nearly five hundred people attended the combined showing of Penn's After-School Jazz and Orchestra, their Intermediate and Advanced Jazz Bands, as well as the Jazz bands of Discovery Middle School and Concord High School. The vivacious tunes of the night were accompanied by complimentary desserts to the attendees, including a surfeit of ice cream and cake.
