On Thursday, Penn-Harris Madison School Corporation Superintendent, Dr. Jerry Thacker announced that he would make a recommendation to the PHM Board of Trustees on Monday, August 3rd. According to a letter from Dr. Thacker, his recommendation came as a response to the recent St. Joseph County Health Department guidance.

Dr. Thacker has promised that if and when students return to school in late October, parents will be given a two-week notification before in-person class resumes, allowing parents and students to make informed decisions as to whether they would prefer to return to school or continue their virtual learning for the remainder of the semester.

At this time, no information has been publicly released regarding what an entirely virtual learning system will look like. PNN will bring more updates to the current situation, as well as interviews and comments from teachers and students on the change of direction stemming from the Superintendents office.
