Like every year, Turkey Legs will be held the week before Thanksgiving, from November 18-22.

Turkey Legs is a fundraiser competition to see which teacher can raise the most amount of money for Riley’s Children Hospital. Teachers who participate typically wear turkey hats, leggings with shorts, loud or crazy socks, or a skirt during the school day. So far, Mr. Gensic, Mr. Carroll, Mrs. Huckleberry, Mrs. Shafer, Mrs. Gish, and Mr. Kase have signed up to participate. Last year, over twenty teachers participated and collected a total of $3,200. This year, they’re looking forward to collecting even more. The collection of the money and the announcement of the event will be coordinated by the Kingsmen Court.

Turkey Legs is held to get the teachers to participate in a positive school culture while raising money for a charitable cause. Students are able to join in too.  A student could wear turkey hats, crazy socks or anything that embodies the spirit of Thanksgiving. At the end of the day, any kind of participation, no matter how small, can make a difference.
