The Penn Wrestling team qualified 7 wrestlers to go State finals competition at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. The Kingsmen wrestled Friday night, February 13th. Each wrestler has to win their respective match on Friday night to be in the top 8 in the state finals.

The Penn Wrestling program had never won a team state title, so these seven wrestlers knew what was on the line, and each was excited to be the first team in Penn history to potentially bring home a state title.

Also, it has been 44 years since this school has had an individual state champion.

Here are the seven wrestlers who competed at state finals.

  • Cavanaugh, Kory 106
  • Hildebrandt, Drew 113
  • Swank, Jarod 152
  • Mammolenti, Joseph 170
  • Osborn, Chase 182
  • Woods, Kobe 220
  • Christman, Cory 285
