After a long season, with many wins, the Girls’ Tennis Team’s season came to an end after a tough fight against St Joseph at the Regionals.

St. Joseph has always been a tough rival for the tennis teams here at Penn, and it was mildly upsetting to hear that that’s who they lost to, 5 matches to 0. However, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t have a great season before this.

They did make it all the way to Regionals, however, so it’s not like they didn’t put up a fight. The Tennis Team coach, Eric Bowers, said “Saint Joe is tough at each spot, and there wasn’t anywhere we thought we had an advantage. We just wanted to come in and play our best and not be intimidated.”. And they did play their best. While the match scores were 5-0, the actual game scores, weren’t bad, some games getting really close. And, these 5 losses were their only losses for the entire season! They were undefeated until Regionals, which is quite impressive.

There are two senior players on the girl’s tennis team that won’t be at Penn next year, and those girls are Tayla Brown and Aliya Bralick. Regarding the season, Tayla said she had a lot of fun with her team this year, and feels like they did great, and is overall proud of what the team could accomplish. As for what she’ll do after this year, she still wants to go on to play tennis after the fun times she’s had at Penn. Specifically, she wants to do Club Tennis.

It’s nice to see the tennis team do well again, and we hope to see them do just as good if not even better next year!
